This book is a must have for anyone with ANY health issue. It is a whole foods diet that allows the highest availability of absorption in the body. Liquid foods are already predigested, allowing your body the highest available uptake of nutrients from the food eaten. Your body does not have to do the work, and is allowed the much needed break to heal. This book is well written in laymens terms and is easy for anyone to understand. The recipes are all pleasing too!

Every small business owner needs to read this

Great read, once I started I could not stop until I was finished, scribbling notes along the way. For two years I was avoiding writing "About me" page on my website even though I heard everywhere how important it is to have one and that it's one of the first things clients will click on. But I just didn't know what to write about myself! After reading Go Your Own Way, it just all fell into place and I wrote my About me page effortlessly in 5 minutes. So many eye-opening tips in one book, I'll certainly be coming back to it again.

A must-read for creative business owners!

This book, along with Kristen's blog and podcast, has helped me so much in finding purpose and direction in my small business. Go Your Own Way made me think through some big questions that I hadn't considered, but also gave me a lot of actionable items to start working on right away. And most importantly for me, reading this book helped push me out of my comfort zone, which directly resulted in me taking a giant leap and doing the thing that I really, really wanted for my business that I previously kept telling myself that I wasn't ready for. Bonus - Kirsten writes like she's talking directly to you, and before I was halfway through the book I felt like I was getting business advice from my BFF.

The only business book I need

I don't normally write reviews but I just had to after reading Go Your Own Way! It's the only business book I've referred to over and over again and plan to keep reviewing at least once a year. As an entrepreneur with two very different businesses (solo photography biz and a skin care studio with employees), I found this booked full of information to help me with both of them. Kristen's advice is clear and concise with lots of room for creativity. Her no nonsense, funky, in-your-face-style makes business planning fun!

In the original introduction to Pascal D'Angelo's Son of Italy, the renowned literary critic Carl Van Doren praised D'Angelo's autobiography as an impassioned story of his "enormous struggles against every disadvantage." In his narrative of his fruitless labor as a "pick and shovel" worker in America, D'Angelo, who immigrated from the Abruzzi region of Italy, describes the harsh, often inhumane working conditions that immigrants had to endure at the beginning of the twentieth century. However, interested in more then just material success in America, D'Angelo quit working as a laborer to become a poet. He began submitting his poetry to some of America's most prestigious literary and cultural journals until he finally succeeded. But in his quest for acceptance, D'Angelo unwittingly exposed the complexities of assimilation. Like the works of many other immigrant writers at the time, D'Angelo's autobiography is a criticism of some of the era's most important social themes. Kenneth Scambray's afterword is an analysis of the complexities of this multifaceted autobiographical voice, which has been read as a simplistic immigrant narrative of struggle and success. Son of Italy: Quite useful but not surprising

This book is a memoir of the travels and immigration of Pascal D'Angelo, a poor illiterate young man from Introdaqua in Italy in the late nineteenth century to New York City. It is especially and personally important to me as an Italian American because it reflects very positively and poignantly on the personal experiences of all my grandparents who came to the United States around the same time as the author.

The reader should not be surprised that the author composed such a great memoir despite being an illiterate ditch digger, a manual laborer. Ben Johnston, one of the greatest poets and dramatists of English literature (1572-1637) was a brick layer.

However, the reader should be surprised about D'Angelo's great facility in the English language despite his illiteracy and lack of formal education. Such circumstances do not happen often in literature, the other notable exception being Joseph Conrad, an expatriate of Poland who wrote an exceptional novel, Heart of Darkness. Like D'Angelo, Conrad also had to learn English from scratch.

I would classify this memoir as required reading for any American of Italian descent.Son of Italy (Picas Series 36)

Extremely compelling

Son of Italy is near the top of my all time favorite books. D'Angelo tells us of his experiences following immigration to USA. He had a tough time, to say the least, but he pursued his dream when another man might have thrown up his hands and gone home (which is what his father did). D'Angelo's vivid descriptions of the poverty he lived in made my hair stand up. His work life and living conditions were truly horrifying. He describes the worst of a turn of the century immigrant lifestyle.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough. The ending is tremendous. D'Angelo reaches his goals and we all benefit from that because he left the legacy of this book.
